is IRC dead?

... is it just me or is the IRc dead?
just got a bit nostalgic while cleaning up my HD and found my old mIRC and thought lets give it a shot and joined q-net ... auto-joined all my old chans and they were empty ... woohooo ...
so i went on a ragezone irc hunt. a little search brought up an old threat for '08 got everything ready and surprise its off ... so is there any server running?? kinda feel like chatting :D
